Me cheap😱? LoL 😂 I’m cheap until I want what I want😉
It’s beautiful ❣️ You my dear friend are a rockstar 🤩 Thank you ❣️ I can’t wait to receive it! So excited 🎊 Love Ya♥️
We are all cheap Tracy until you see that one thing we can not walk away from My husband is a model railroader he spends 3 and 4 hundred dollars on a train engine with sound he does save up for it, but it’s a lot of money #Cheap😂
Darn.... she SAW IT!!!
😂 that didn’t take long😂
😂🤣😂🐥
😂🤣😂🐥
Oh! I just got to watch the entire video… Miss Tracy is going to love it!!!
Love this idea! Can't wait to see Tracy's video when she receives your gift.
I think your "panel" quilt was striking. When I saw that you were going to cut it up in so many small strips, I was flummoxed. But the end result was nice. Thanks for sharing that tutorial and this one, too. Take care and blessings to y'all.
Hahaha on the panel. I love that you cut it up. Your panel, your decision.
Right?! 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
What a fantastic idea. Tracy is going to love it💌💌💌
She did & put up a short yesterday👍🏼😊🐥
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤
Can't wait to see Tracy reaction
Me too but it won’t be shipped off until I get home from vacation 😬
Love it Di 🎉 I use the back of a plastic table cloth lol it works . Now I can make a real Design Wall. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your Vacation ❤ don't worry about those Rude people comments. Don't watch if you don't like it .
I used a table cloth for years too. I must admit that I do love the design wall quilt more👍🏼😍. Thanks Caren👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Thanks Di for a great idea! I haven’t seen anyone else make a design wall like this before. I’m definitely going to make one for myself. I love your channel!
Thanks for sharing your design wall design. It's very clever. Love the way you mitered the binding corners. Brilliant.
Thanks, glad you liked it Ann👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Nice Tracey will love it😀
I think she will, 🥰👍🏼 TFW😊♥️🐥
Tracy maybe this is Di’s @sisterchicksquilting way of saying sorry for the big scare of being thrown in the slammer over the 🐥 pin cushion. 🤣🤣🤣
🍿🍫🤣 🤣
I love the design wall!!
🤣😂🤣👍🏼, the poor chick was almost violated😳! They wanted to open it up😳😱! Thanks for watching Laura 😊♥️🐥
Di love how you and Tracy have a fabulous long distance friendship!! When you called her cheap in your video I was definitely in stitches with laughter!! I thought “Di is gonna get it now!” 🤣🤣🤣 Granted Tracy @thesewingchannel said she had friends who were fabric snobs. 🤣🤣🤣 I love to watch both of your videos. I learn a lot from both of you and also have my mind blown. The binding you did on the design wall had my head spinning!! That’s an amazing trick to have up your sleeve!! Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks and beautiful projects!! I’m still going to keep my 🍿🍫🍿 handy!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣LOL
I love the idea for using the clips to hang up quilt and design wall! Thank you for the advice!!❤
Fun project! I may make one just to have for travel purposes. I am lucky to have two big 4 x 8 foam insulation boards, which still aren’t big enough for all of the projects I work on at one time! I am a quilting butterfly- I flit from project to project until they get done! 😂
I understand🦋. Having myhas been good for me😂 TFW😊♥️
I absolutely loved your panel quilt challenge...it gave me some wonderful ideas since i have a few panels that i dont know what to do. Thanks for the ideas
Why, you’re welcome. You can peek inside my crazy brain for any ideas. Careful though, look what’s happened to The Engineer 😂🤣😂🤣
Miss Di this is the coolest gift. Love the Wording too. Can’t wait to see it in use at Miss Tracy’s. Wahoo. 😍😍😍
Thanks Debbie 👍🏼🥰
I loved it when you cut up the panel and the quilt came out beautiful! Great idea for those panels we don’t know what to do with. Thanks!
Thank you Anna and TFW😊♥️🤣
I loved what you did with the panel by cutting it up. In fact I wasn't very enamored with the pictures in the panels at all. I loved that you were able to redeem the images into something appealing.
Your panel quilt was my favorite of the challenge quilts. I didn't care for the panel so thought it was a perfect solution.
Thanks Jean, we think alike😊👍🏼♥️🐥
Great Tutorial!! I can't wait to make one for myself!! Tracy is going to LOVE this!! You are a great friend!!
Thank you, Lena. They’re really a fun project to make. Thanks for watching my channel.👍🏼♥️🐥
18:17 -- Great walkthrough on making a double mitered corner on a chunky binding!
Thank you Ru 😊👍🏼♥️🐥
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will be making one. I never thought of making one to hang. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊
Awesome, I’m glad you like it Cindy. TFW👍🏼😊♥️🐥
It turned out wonderful. Tracy will be so happy!! Have a great vacation.
Di, I’m watching…but no worries 🤫 I won’t tell Tracy 🤣
😂🤣😂🤣😂🐥
Thanks for sharing this idea. I am thinking flannel backed tablecloth on floor is going to be replaced soon! I am getting dizzy bending over to adjust blocks. 😂 ❤ (70+ yo and only twin bed)
I hope it helps, I can’t get down on the floor, knees 🤪 TFW😊♥️🐥
I love the design wall idea. I love how you put Tracy's logo on hers. I have done that type of binding on a table topper, but I had to sew two different color fabrics together to make a binding so my sister could use the topper for two different seasons. One fabric didn't go with both sides, so I improvided. I hope that made sense. I really like that binding technique. I live your videos, I'd really like to meet up with you all (my favorite you tubers that i watch) one of these days. Have fun on vacation. By the way, Tracy is going to love it. I'm hoping you both do a live when she gets it.
Double sided, you're a quiting jedi Janet. TFW!
Brilliant.🎉❤ Thank You!!😊❤
Thank you, I packed it up and shipped it off yesterday👍🏼😊♥️🐥
❤ suggestion: use the right bedding on both sides so it can be reversible. Second suggestion would be to put grommets at the Top of the design wall quilt so you don’t have to worry about finding binder, clips and pins when you go to hang it up.
Thanks for the ideas Rose 😍👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Thank you for this inspiring video. I just completed my own. I have a space 6" wide by 7" tall. I cut a piece of batting to size and a little larger piece of wide backing. I quilted them together on my domestic machine with just wavy lines (it came out a little bit wonky, but I'm okay with that.) Then I trimmed the backing to 1" and folded it over twice to form the binding. It's perfect for my space! It's not as beautiful as yours, but it's functional.
Awesome Katherine😊 it’s such an easy fix for my space, I hope you enjoy yours.TFW😊♥️🐥
Can’t wait to make one and toss my old fons and porter wall that is 15 years old and so weak at holding my blocks, I know Tracy will love it!!
Cool 😊❣️ she’ll have to wait till I get hook me from vacation though 😂🤣😊♥️🐥
Di, I love your binding method! Great video! ❤️
Thanks Glenda 😊👍🏼♥️🐥
Thank you for showing us how to make this design wall quilt! I know Tracy will absolutely love it. 💞
You’re so welcome, Sheila. I heard from her today by text. She does love it.😊👍🏼♥️🐥
That’s a great design wall. I can’t wait to see Traci’s reaction. Enjoy your vacation
Me too, I’ll ship it out this Saturday. 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Love your design wall..I have been wanting to do but didn’t know how….I also watched the panel challenge…I like loved yours BEST.. have a great vacation.❤️❤️
Thank you Vona! TFW
Tracy’s going to love this Di💕💕🧵
You’re right she did Helen, I got a text from her just a little bit ago. She loves it.👍🏼😊♥️🐥
So sweet to make a beautiful design wall for a friend. It came out great.
This is so cool Di! Have you ever bound a quilt this way? Do you think it would float in a quilt show? My binding in my opinion is awful. Tracy’s gonna love it! What a great friend you are!! ❤
Thank you very much, Marie. It would depend on who the judges were at the quilt show, lol. I can’t wait for Tracy to get it. I’ve shipped it off already. Thanks for always watching.👍🏼♥️🐥
I just love your videos! And the Engineer's comments are hilarious 🤣 Tracey is going to love her design wall!
He is my funny guy😂🤪. She’s gonna have to wait till after vacation for me to ship it out. Thanks for watching.👍🏼♥️🐥
What a nice gift for Tracy ❤
Thanks Gina, I talked to her and she’s pretty excited.
Tracey is going to love it. You did a fantastic job.❤
I found out that she does love it, but she’s gonna have to wait to get it till I come home from vacation, lol🤣👍🏼♥️🐥
Tracy is going to love this design wall quilt and if she don't I do, you can send it to me! lol. hahaha!
LOL Mavis, :) TFW!
This is a Fantastic project. I love working with smaller projects. It's terrific
Thanks :)
thx
Love your videos thank tou! I wrap small squares of the rubber nonslip stuff you put in drawers around my quilt and clip the binder clips to that. So far they have always held. . I keep meaning to glue the non slip into the clips but alas that hasn't happened yet.
That’s a good idea thanks, Laura👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Just what I need in my new sewing room.
Good 😃👍🏼 it’s not for everyone but fills a need. 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Tracy is going to love this !!! Great job.
Thanks Janet, I'm packing it for shipping today.
Another FANtastic Video!! Your love for quilting, teaching & friends it what makes you SO special!! (& I'm noticing over the past few years that it is more common than not among quilters :)
Enjoy your well-deserved vacation! Praying for safe travels 🙏 Thank you & the engineer for all your hard work, creativity & humor😊
Thank you Tiffany 👍🏼😊♥️ TFW♥️🐥
That gypsy tool is the greatest. Works good to get kitty fur off the couch too!
It's a great tool for sure
Hi Di,
I personally loved your cut up panel Irish chain quilt last week, totally awesome looking,
Hey thanks for sharing how you made this design wall quilt. I mean who knew
to make a quilt for it! Job well done, Tracy will love it!
Take care and have a blast on your vacation, safe travels ❤
Thanks Pam for watching and I did have an absolute wonderful time at the Oregon Coast. TFW
Love the way you mitered the corner ! Another great video as usual !
Thank you Cynthia, I appreciate you 👍🏼😃♥️🐥
I thought your video on the panel Irish Chain Quilt was BRILLIANT!!!
Oh thank you!
Enjoy your vacation! Love this idea and have saved the video so when I am ready to do this project ... I have your video saved! Hugs from Florida!
That’s s awesome Beverly
, I hope you enjoy yours. TFW, hugs back from Idaho 🥔 TFW😊♥️🐥
I love Robin’s tee shirt!
It was a good one, right Lisa?
Oh my goodness, I love this mitered binding, I’m learning this and gonna use it a lot I know.
Awesome 👍🏼😊 TFW😊♥️🐥
I don't have wall space, so I have a design "curtain" on my doorwall window. I use a big wooden dowel hung on the curtain rod fixtures, roll up when done.
And my longarm studio is... my living room!
Yep, we all adapt to our own quilting environment 👍🏼😊♥️🐥 TFW🐥
This was a great video and great idea! I'm going to make one for my retreat.
Oh my goodness, I love this mitered binding, I’m learning this and gonna use it a lot I know. And I think your panel quilt was BEST !❤
Awesome! Thank you!
Luv you Di😊
Love all your videos ❤ back in the day 80s and 90s I would have never cut a panel up but it is only fabric and I do have a larger stash now so I do cut them up and never blink a eye 😉 Have a great Vacation Stay Safe 🙏
Yay for bigger stashes 😊♥️🐥
Love the mitering instruction. Thank You!💙💫👏👏
You’re welcome and TFW👍🏼😊♥️🐥
What a great idea..
Thank you Susan! 😊
I loved this video, thank you.
Thank you so much, Norma. Thanks for watching my channel.😊👍🏼♥️🐥
Love you creativity and ingenuity! ❤❤❤
Thanks Regina 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Thanks for this wonderful idea!
You bet 😃♥️🐥
Great idea for a portable design wall. I wonder 🤔 would pre-washed flannel work?
I think so but it would be quite thin. This one has a little weight to it. Thanks for watching.
You are brilliant and I love this idea!
Thank you very much, I needed something and that worked.👍🏼♥️🐥
That you ❤awesome video & instructions!!
You’re so welcome Beth 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Great idea for a design wall ❤ it I enjoy your content I don’t always comment but always give you a thumbs 👍🏻
Thank you Karen for watching and the 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼, I appreciate hearing from you😊♥️🐥
❤️❤️❤️❤️
😍♥️😍🐥
Great tips for design walls!💕
Thank you, glad yu like them. 😊
❤❤❤
♥️👍🏼🐥
Thank you for sharing this!! Hope to make one for myself soon! LOVE 😍Collaborations with You and April.
Hope you have some more soon.
Me too :) TFW
Very interesting tutorial, I will definitely be watching this video again and giving it a try. Thanks for sharing Di
Awesome 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
What a cool idea! I think I can do this!
Yes! You can Cindy👍🏼♥️😊🐥
Very clever lady Di , great thinking
Thank you Patricia 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
I could use one in my sewing room. However, I am thinking of making one to hang from the heavy curtain rod that is already in place. It could serve as a flat curtain to help insulate the room, help block out the sun, and work as a design wall when I need one. Thank you for this great idea.
You’re very welcome 😊 TFW😊♥️🐥
I Love this idea. Tracy will love it! You are such a good friend!! I may have my local longarmer do this for me at a later date. Recently, I measured my double closet in my sewing room on the outside edge of the top molding for width and length. I purchased the flannel with a grid a few inches wider and longer than the closet. I hemmed all sides-with a rod pocket on the top. I have an inexpensive 1" rod a few inches longer than the closet width measurement. I also purchased hanging brackets that will fit the rod from Quik Hang. All my drapes/curtains in my home hang from these type brackets. So EASY to install. No leveling needed. Just tap them in and done! I can hang my design wall from the rod-- I can leave it up or take it down. When I remove the design wall, the brackets/rod can stay up in place and it doesn't hinder the operation of the bi-fold doors. If you have a flannel backed tablecloth, you could use the cafe rings/clips on the rod.
HOw creative you are Brenda! I love the quilting community we are a part of. Thanks for watching my videos.
I’m definitely making this for my small sewing room. Thank you ❤
Yay 😂 I love mine, I hope you love your too 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait to get to working on one for my wall.
Have fun!
Wowsers....just Wowsers. I think you should get a patent on your idea!!! Maybe you could sell these quilt design walls and make us happy!! Do you think using elmer's white school glue might help at the mitered corners? It seemed so fiddle-y.
Tracy said I should offer them for sale. I don’t know if I could carve out much production time however❓😬 maybe on the glue, after I did 3 it was so easy.
That was the smartest idea your so smart
Thanks 😳👍🏼♥️🐥
I’m definitely going to make one of these, to use on my adventures.
It sounds like your going to have some fun adventures, I’ll keep my eye on you 👍🏼😃😊♥️🐥
🤔🤨Would you ever consider making one side dark and the other light so you can turn your "design wall" around? That way depending on the fabrics you are using they will always stand out on the design wall backing.
Or, would that just be an unnecessary step?
Thanks, Ru
I imagine if you want to it could be done, I have black batting. I’m going to keep mine white though as I would rarely use the dark side. I do press to the dark side though🤣😂🤗 TFW😊♥️🐥
My engineer put a similar wood strip in our bedroom so I have a design wall there . Batting is so expensive here so i use a flannel backed table cloth - love your video - Tracey will live her gift made from your heart❤
I those Engineers are handy to have around, right?!? Thanks for watching 😊♥️🐥
Great idea. So much better than flannel backed tablecloth.that i currently use
I've used both and agree with you.
Really cool! Looks so great, that binding fabric is adorable!!
I must have missed the kick back on the panel cut up😮, I thought your quilt was amazing, an Irish chain ...classic, that panel never looked so good!! Lol. You were thinking outside the box and it was so creative!! Thanks for sharing ❣️
Thank you Ellie! 😊 Glad you lilked the panel quilt too.
That’s exactly how my husband made mine because I had limited room
Very cool, Brenda. I bet you love your little strip as much as I love mine.👍🏼😊♥️🐥
PS I love your Irish Chain quilt. I was not a fan of the panel but it turned out great. Desley🇦🇺
Thanks Delsey, we think alike 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Hi Di! You forgot the thing with what you get rid of the pilling. 🤣 so, wha do you use? Thanx for great video! I dont have a wall, but thinking of hanging a curtain rod from the ceiling and hanging it that Way. Happy sewing 🧵, a great summer and vacation!
Sorry, I did 🤪. I just pinned a link in the comments with the inform nation. Thanks for asking. 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
I loved the panel challenge. Now I won't fill so bad cutting mine up.
No bad feelings allowed Diana😂👍🏼😊♥️
Love ❤❤❤ Sorry engineer. But one of these would be great to layer on my permanent design wall when I just need something I’m working on between the big project and some thing that gets me restarted. Think I’ll make it and use the grommets. We love you too engineer.
Yes🤣👍🏼🐥
How would it work to sew the small round plastic rings on the top and then hang it on the Command Hooks when at retreat or in a different room? I really enjoy watching you, Tracy and April.
That’s what I was thinking, but small metal rings instead of plastic ones. (I can’t get plastic ones near me.)
That’s a good idea 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. This is going to be perfect for me because we move every two years with the State Dept and I can just fold it and take it with me. I noticed you have two Jukis’, which two do you have?
I have the DX-7, it has lotso stitch options & the TL 2010Q the straight stitch. Then I have a Juki Serger too. TFW!
Tracy Is Cheap???
I never would have guessed
#iron
Iron and all the toys Quilter own
😂🤣😂 Lol, good point! We both have the Laurastar iron. 🤣🥰🐥
👋👋. ❤ 👍🏻👍🏻
👋👋😃😍👍🏼♥️🐥
Hi Di, love your idea of the design wall. Have one already but does not sit straight. Have thought about the Comand hooks but havnt got around to it yet. Mine is just a piece of batting hanging from the wall. Doesn't look real neat like yours Just wonder why you didn't use a normal binding size. I like the look of the big binding but don't know weather I like the process of the corners. Great tutorial and I know Tracey will love it. Thanks Desley🇦🇺
I wanted a wide decorative border. The corners were a fun challenge♥️TFW😊♥️🐥
Fun fun fun; have a nice holiday😊
Chilling right now by the I ocean 😊👍🏼♥️🐥 thanks
Your design wall idea is absolutely fantastic. I hope you dont mind if i steal your idea.
That's why I put it on RUclips, have at it!
Did you use a sweater tool for removing pilling?
Sorry Joy, I did forget. I pinned a link in the comments with the information in it. Thanks for watching 👍🏼😊♥️🐥
